An interesting fact to note about this change in Poolesville is that it all began when a local hardware store installed a monopole wind energy system on his property. At the time that he installed this wind energy system the town’s code did not address this issue. The town will now allow ground mounted wind systems, which would be allowed in the central business district, and on properties located in rural areas.
