Each week in the month of May a different subject will be addressed with different communities throughout Montgomery County. Some topics that will be addressed include the promotion of Green Buildings Disaster Safety and Mitigation, Fire Safety and Awareness, and Backyard safety. The main theme for this year is Building Safety.
Whether adding an addition or building a home from scratch, it is very important to take into consideration the building safety and fire prevention codes, which include the actions of checking the structural soundness of the development, the reliability of fire prevention and suppression systems (i.e. sprinkler systems), mechanical systems, as well as energy efficiency and sustainability. As of now the only homes that will not be receiving this free inspection are homes located in the City of Rockville and Gaithersburg.
