If you were to take a stroll or drive by the Columbia Heights Subdivision you would see some beautiful Washington DC homes.  Most of this Washington, DC real estate are either Victorian or Federal style row homes.  Majority of these DC homes are painted with very vibrant and bright colors, multi-leveled, and many are also going through renovations to restore this beautiful architecture.    Today’s architecture is also seen when you look at Columbia Heights real estate with more apartment and condominiums being built due to the need for more dense housing.  In some of these newer buildings, you will find modern facilities and state of the art amenities.  A positive feature about these buildings is that they have been designed to respect the historic architecture that you will find in this great Subdivision found in the Northwest quadrant of Washington DC.  Let’s take Kenyon Square for example it is located above the Columbia Heights metro station at the intersection of 14th and Kenyon streets northwest.  These high-end condominium’s are composed of brick have beautiful windows and landscaped gardens.

The Kenyon house is also located close to some of the great cuisines that Washington DC has to offer.  In the past year Grillfish, Logan Tavern and Mercado all opened within the Columbia Heights boundaries.  Also located along 14th street are CVS, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, T mobile, Pollo Campero, Rita’s Water Ice, Score Educational Center, Citibank, Georgetown Valet, OXXO Drycleaners, Sticky Fingers Bakery and in the near future, a Julia’s Empanadas.  As you can see this subdivision has it all for the everyday shopper or someone looking to grab a quick bite to at while in the District. 

What else can be found in the Columbia Heights Subdivision?

  • Wonderland Ballroom: opened in 2004, and is a favorite in the neighborhood.
  • Electric Bar: is known to be edgy, and has a terrific selection of draft beers, favorably priced food, good music selection and great outdoor patio.
  • RedRocks Pizza: located in a townhouse at the intersection Park road and 11th street.  This restaurant offers phenomenal brick oven pizza, salads, and panini sandwiches.    You will also find a good drink selection and an outdoor patio when weather permits. 
  • Columbia Heights Coffee:  frequently visited by many coffee drinkers in the area.  It is known to have excellent coffee and it also offer sandwiches if you are hungry. 
  • Taqueria del Distrio Federal: known by the residents of the area for their affordably good tacos.
  • Red Derby:  a fairly new bar with retro decorations, good music, and a friendly atmosphere. 

You can see the subdivision known as Columbia Heights has undergone a spectacular rebirth and can cater to the many needs of its visitors and residents.
