If you are looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat look no further than Bethesda.  As of 2004 Bethesda was home to roughly 180 different restaurants.  The cuisine ranges from Afghan all the way to Vietnamese.  If cooking is your forte, Bethesda is home to 2 different farmers markets, The Montgomery Farm Woman’s Cooperative Market and the Bethesda Farmer’s Market.  The town of Bethesda also offers its residents and visitors numerous cinemas and art galleries.

Many famous people have come to call this beautiful city Home at one point in their life.  This list includes: former NFL kicker Jeff Atkinson, Michelle Bachelet the current and First Women President of Chille, William Peter Blaty who is best known as the writer of The Exorcist, Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N John R. Bolton, Former Washington Red Skin and two time Super Bowl winner Gary Clark, the former Astronaut turned Senator John Glenn, and Jack Kemp Vice president Candidate and Former US Congressman and HUD Secretary.

This great city along the Potomac River had 3 high schools in 2006 rated by Newsweek magazine to be in the top 120 nationwide.  Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School was ranked 34th nationally, Walter Johnson High School ranked 101st and Walt Whitman High school was ranked 116th.  


Some interesting facts to note about this cities housing market if you are considering purchasing or selling a house; from October 26th 2007 to November 26th 2007 four houses have sold ranging in price from $485,000 on the low end to $1,336,800 on the high end.  There are also 9 houses that have gone under contract.  Currently there are 74 properties in this City  that are currently active on the market.  They range in price from $60,000 on the low end to a whopping $7,600,000 on the high end.   Regardless of your price range this area is likely to have an option for you.
