Located just North of Dupont Circle, south of Mount Pleasant, and west of Columbia Heights, at the intersection of 18th street and Columbia Rd Northwest in Washington, DC, is the diverse area of Adams Morgan. Adams Morgan name is derived from the two elementary public schools that were combined into one due to the desegregation laws that were first address in 1954 during the Bolling vs. Sharpe Supreme Court ruling. Adams Morgan offers its visitors and its residents a vibrant night life comprised of many bars and fine cuisines including Spanish, Ethiopian, Guatemalan, Mexican, Italian, Dutch, Vietnamese, Ghanaian, Cajun, Brazilian, Palestinian, Peruvian, Indian, Israeli, Thai, Lebanese, Chinese, and American. The bar establishments (over 90 businesses in Adams Morgan with a DC liquor license) provide a thriving nightlife with night clubs, live music, and a variety of atmospheres.
Adams Morgan Day
For the past twenty-seven years on the second Sunday in September this neighborhood hosts an event that is known as Adams Morgan Day. It is a celebration for its residents and neighbors that boasting the many offerings of Adams Morgan. This celebration includes live music and an array of different cuisines. This year on September 11th, this festival celebrated its 27th anniversary. At this years festival local businesses including restaurants, retail stores, and entertainment locations filled the streets with there booths.

If you are not familiar with the roads in the District you can rely on public transportation to get you here. There are two different metro stations located nearby. You can take the Redline to Woodley Park- Zoo/ Adams Morgan, or you can take the green line to the Columbia Heights stop. There is also the Adams Morgan U street link, a bus that runs between this fun and energetic area and the surrounding Metro stations.
