Why Buy Silver Spring Maryland Real Estate?

If you are thinking of purchasing or selling Silver Spring Maryland residential real estate here is a quick snapshot of what is going on in its Real Estate Market.  From October 26th 2007 to November 26th 2007 there have been 268 active properties in Silver Spring ranging in price from $73,000 to $13,499,900.  There have also been 16 properties this month in Silver Spring that went under contract.  The prices on these homes have ranged from $279,900 to $499,000. 

Over time Silver Spring Maryland has come to offer its residents many benefits. The Downtown area of Silver Spring is the home to several musical and ethnic festivals.  The dining in this city ranges vastly, if you enjoy going out for food, Silver Spring is a great place to live.  Currently there are over 150 restaurants in the Central Business district, and this number is increasing on a monthly basis.  Currently this city has restaurants that serve American, African, Italian, Burmese, Mexican, Salvadoran, Jamaican, Vietnamese, Lebanese, and fusion cuisines.  There are also many different food chains that have come to call this city home.  This city is the home of the American Film Institute Silver Theater and Culture Center.  This theater’s forte is American and foreign films.  Many companies reside in the Downtown area of this city for example: the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which is a branch of United States Department of Commerce, The American Nurses Association.  Many biotechnology companies and media companies have also come to call this city home.

In the Twenty-First Century this cities downtown area began to be redeveloped.  There was a new outdoor shopping plaza which includes shops such as Whole Foods, Borders Book, Bombay Company, Men’s Warehouse, and Pier 1 Imports.  Also part of this redevelopment was the reopening of the Silver Theater.

If you enjoy going out and spending a day at the park with your family this city offers not one, but five different parks that you can go to for a fun day in the outdoors.  The Rock Creek Park runs along the West side of the city and offers a vast array of hiking trails, picnic sites, a bicycling trails.  Sligo Creek Park follows along the Sligo Creek  through the city and offers hiking, tennis courts, a playground, and biking trails.  If you have a group of people who want to just hang out at the park or a group of active sports players Jesup Park is a great place to visit, offering soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and picnic sites.  The final 2 parks are the Brookside gardens and Acorn Park.  As you can see this city caters to the needs of many.
