Buying a Home in Tyson's Corner?  It's a Shoppers Dream!

Located in Fairfax County Virginia, is the unincorporated city of Tyson's Corner includes roughly 30 million square feet of commercial real estate.  While much of this is office space, over 4 million square feet of it is dedicated to retail.

There are two malls located in Tyson's Corner, the Tyson's Corner Center, considered a super regional shopping mall, and Tyson's Galleria which houses many of the area's upscale stores, catering to the many wealthy residential real estate owners that reside here.

Tysons Corner Center

Is considered to be the largest shopping center in the Washington DC Metro Area, as well as one of the largest shopping malls in the nation.  Over 300 department and specialty stores call this mall home.  It first opened its doors in 1968.

Prior to the mall's construction the property that surrounded it was mainly farm land, car dealerships, and few residential homes.  Since then the area has truly transformed, becoming prime real estate for hotels, office buildings, and apartment complexes.  In 1988 the mall went through a major expansion which added a bottom floor.  The mall grew dramatically again in 2005.

A Selection of the Mall’s Stores:

  • Nordstrom
  • Bloomingdale’s
  •  Macy’s
  •  Lord & Taylor

The mall is also the subject of present negotiations to include a Metro rail station on the soon to be built silver line.
