The city which was originally known as agriculturally oriented is now a cosmopolitan city with many different neighborhoods and many things to do. Currently this town has a population of just over 47,000 people and is the fifth largest city in Maryland. It is also considered to be an employment hub with roughly 54,500 jobs.
