What’s new with Frederick county real estate
Residents of Frederick County, Maryland homes are in for a pleasant surprise within the upcoming months.  Each of the residents of Frederick County homes will have the option of receiving a significantly larger recycling container.  These containers will be used to hold the standard recyclables like glass bottles and aluminum cans.  This new system will allow the following items to be recycled: wide mouth plastic containers, hardbound books, aerosol cans, and juice cartons.    The new containers are equipped with indicators of which items are qualified recyclable products.

Over the next two months Frederick County Homes will be receiving these new 65 gallon bins.  Residents of Middletown expect to start seeing these larger bins, because deliveries have already begun. The county has generously set aside roughly three million dollars to be able to purchased roughly 55,000 carts of which 3,000 are 95 gallon totes.  These larger bins are going to be made available to large family residences.   Another interesting fact to note is that currently if you live in an apartment or a condo complex in this county recycling is not offered to you.  With the new larger containers being delivered it will free up thousands of the old 18 gallon bins.  Some people have made suggestions about taking these older bins and putting them in apartment and condo complexes, allowing these residents to finally begin recycling.

If you are an individual who is interested in living green you would be pleased to know that currently this county is recycling 36 percent of its waste.  They are also hoping that buy the year 2024 they will be recycling around 60 percent of its waste.  Another interesting fact that has been going on with Fredericks recycling is that currently the recycled items are being shipped to Elkridge.  The reason for this is that Frederick currently does not have a recycling facility.

Fun Fact
(a little known tidbit of this counties history)
It is the city where President Abraham Lincoln gave his Civil War speech at the intersection of South and Market Streets which was a train depot back then.  There were also several historic Civil War battlefields located near this Historical City.  Due west along US 40 and west of Burkittsville, MD, part of the Battle of South Mountain was fought.  Other battles that occurred in or near Frederick include the battles of Crampon's, Fox's, and of Turner's Gap.  Another very important Civil War location that lies in this county is the home of Barbara Fritchie. According to legend she is the women who waved the American flag in defiance of the well known commander Stonewall Jackson and his troops.
