New Green Montgomery County Real Estate in Rockville
On March 16th, 2009 there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Rockville MD Real Estate.   The Thomas Farm Community Center is an 18,000 Square foot building located on Fallsgrove Drive at the intersection of West Montgomery Avenue.  The patrons that utilize this new Rockville Maryland real estate (Community Center) will get enjoy many features. Some of these features include: gymnasium, multi purpose rooms, outdoor patio, game room, fitness center, art gallery and lounge.  An interesting fact to note about this new piece of Rockville real estate is that this project has many green features.   It is also the first community center in the city of Rockville that is west of Interstate 270.

When the City was planning this development they had to take many facts into consideration.  The site that they decided to use for the community center was chosen because there would be minimal impact on the environment that surrounds the building.  The developers of this project had also used sustainable building techniques while constructing this project.  Here is a snapshot of the Green features that the Thomas Farm Community Center possesses: low-E glass which reduces temperature loss, a geothermal heating and cooling system, skylights that allow light to enter which reduces the need to have artificial lights, as well as energy efficient lights.  When you add all of this up, it may come to no surprise why this city’s Department of Recreation and Parks recently received the Peerless Rockville Preservation Award.
About the Budget for the Thomas Farm Community Center
The City had a budget of over $5 million in its Capital Improvement Program that went into the construction of the Thomas Farm Community Center.   The budget for this project was supported by a grant from the MD Program Open Space (POS).  The POS is an entity that supports the acquisition and construction of the park facilities.  When coming up with this budget the city included a $45,000 contribution that would be made to the developers of Falls Grove.
