Barnaby Woods, Washington DC Real Estate
If you want to purchase Washington DC real estate but do not want to deal with the hustle and bustle that comes with city living you may want to consider Barnaby Woods.  The Barnaby Woods neighborhood is located din the Northwest quadrant of Washington DC.  The neighborhood is sandwiched between Montgomery County real estate and the Rock Creek Park.  The boundaries of this neighborhood are Aberfoyle place to the North, the West Boundary is located by Western Avenue, Rittenhouse Street is the Southern boundary, and finally Oregon Avenue is the eastern Boundary for this neighborhood.  An interesting fact to note about the Washington DC real estate in this neighborhood is that it is occupied entirely by residential real estate and there is actually no parcel of land in this development that is zoned for commercial use.  Also these Washington DC homes are mostly 1950 colonials composed of brick that are located on average to large parcels of land.  Majority of the streets in this subdivision do not have sidewalks which add to the suburban feel of this city neighborhood.  Another interesting fact about this neighborhood is that there are only a few streets that have access into Barnaby Woods which has a direct correlation to the almost nonexistent traffic.  This also helps aid in the privacy and peace and quiet that residents of this neighborhood get to enjoy on a daily basis.

Some of the residents in this area really enjoy living away from the hustle and bustle that would be encountered if they were to live in downtown DC.  One of the advantages that a portion of these residents get to enjoy in Barnaby Woods is that they are surrounded by the woods and all the wild life that comes along with it.   Some of the wildlife that you may encounter in Barnaby woods are foxes, raccoons, deer, and hummingbirds.  Even though this subdivision is located off the beaten path there is still an E6 bus that can pick you up and get you to friendship heights in as little as 10 minutes.  So you really get to enjoy the aspects of city living without dealing with all of the noises that you would have to ender if you were to purchase a home in downtown area of the District.  This beautiful neighborhood also has  a community garden that was created by one of the residents of the area.  They took a little plot of land that was composed mostly of dirt.  This local garden is located close to the bus stop on Utah Avenue.  The residents of this area donated plants, and other materials to make this garden the entrance to Barnaby Woods.  There is  a rock located in this area that a neighbor painted Barnaby Woods on and now this serves as a indicator that you are entering this great neighborhood.
